Frequent Questions
How Do I Book?
Great question! First it would be best to contact me. Then to get your wedding in our books we will need 2 things. 1. A complete signed contract sent out by me to all interested parties and 2. Half down as a retainer due upon booking, the retainer is non-refundable after 30 days after booking. Final payment is due 10 day prior to the event.
Types of Payment?
I accept payment through my secure portal that is facilitated through my website. You have the ability to pay via Credit or Debit card.
**I do not accept checks as forms of payment.**
How do you photograph weddings?
On your wedding day, all I want to capture is the feelings, the mood, the emotions, the calm and crazy moments and all the details that make your wedding unique. We usually like to show up before the"I do's," so that we can capture all the details of the day. We usually capture a lot of candid shots, but obviously will still pose you if needed.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm based in Kalamazoo Michigan and YES I love to travel! West Michigan is my home base and there is no travel fee for 1 hours outside of Kalamazoo. If you want me to photograph your adventure, it may require a travel fee, depending on where it takes place. If you are having a wedding that requires travel, please reach out to me and we can figure out the best plan for your day!
When will we get our photos?
Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos usually within 8 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season). You can download all the photos from the gallery, share them with friends and family, choose your favorites, and also order prints!
How many pictures will we receive?
For a wedding with 8 hours of coverage, you will receive between 800 to 1200 images that have been edited for light and color. I always choose quality rather than quantity and that's why I will choose the best and more significant photos to tell your story.
Engagement Session?
This is a great way for us to work together prior to the big day you so are comfortable with how we work and the camera. Book a Wedding Package and get your engagement session at half price. Book the Lake Superior Package and receive a free 1 hour engagement session.
Do you edit the photos?
Absolutely! As part of my brand and image all photos are run through a rigorous workflow, sorted, rated, and then edit for color, lighting, clarity and small blemishes. If larger edits are needed (e.g. swapping heads, removing unwanted objects, heavier blemish removal) a nominal fee will be assessed. Please contact me for questions.
Can I have all the images you take?
Short answer, No. As a service to you and making sure all images are quality and reflect my brand and vision, I don't allow every frame taken to go to clients. Why? Because no one wants 10 photos of the same thing, nor those half eye-lid open/closed images. I assure you that upon delivery you have every image that reflects the day handpicked as the best of the best.
What if I need more time?
Add it! If you need more time we can most definitely accommodate that for an additional $400/hour you can add to your package. Reach out with any questions you may have.
How long do the online galleries stay up?
They are guaranteed to be hosted up to one (1) year past delivery date. However, most wedding galleries will stay up indefinitely and you'll receive notifications if the gallery were to ever need to come down so we can make arrangements that you have your photos available to you forever.
What equipment do you use?
Canon! My current fleet is two Canon 5D Mark iii as well as my Second shooter. I use a range of lenses and flashes, all Canon. For editing Macs and Adobe everything. I also use a plethora light altering tools to get the creative juices flowing.
