Hey Everyone! Welcome to our blog!
We are so excited that you have taken your time to explore our new website and blog. We have been putting a lot of time and love into this new design in hopes that it makes your experience the best it can be. We thought the best way to welcome you to our blog would be to tell you a little bit about us, the Ritsemas!
How did we get started?
We are a husband and wife team that has been doing photography since 2010. We got our start while we were both attending Western Michigan University (Trevor for Fine Arts-Photography, and Melissa for Geology) when a friend of a friend asked us if we would be interested in photographing her wedding. We decided sure, why not, it could be a lot of fun! As luck would have it we thought it was a blast. We continued building our portfolio while we attended class at WMU, and working our several part-time jobs. Finally after we graduated, we were able to devote more time to building our photography business. For the past 6 years we have been busy photographing weddings, families, senior photos etc. still while working our other full-time jobs.

We are animal lovers, we have 2 dogs - a Siberian Husky and Shiba Inu named Sokka and Suki, as well as 3 very sassy cats - Paix, Bellatrix and Tinsel. A huge passion of ours is travel; in the past 2 years we have traveled to Hawaii and Alaska, exploring the beautiful landscapes that both areas have to offer. We are planning our next big adventure to Key West early 2020, were we will be visiting the 3 National Parks in southern Florida. Visiting every National Park is on our bucket-list, so far we have visited - Haleakala, Denali, Kenai Fjords, Lake Clark, and the Indiana Dunes together, and will be adding Everglades, Biscayne, and Dry Tortugas early 2020.
